Tour Description
This walking tour takes you to explore the enchanting Sintra, a magical place full of history, culture, and stunning landscapes. We begin at Sintra Station, the starting point where the charm of the city begins to unfold. From here, we walk to the imposing Moorish Castle, a medieval fortress with breathtaking panoramic views of Sintra and the Sintra Mountains. As you walk along the walls and towers, you’ll be transported back to the medieval era, with spectacular views of the region.
Next, we head to the Pena Palace Gardens, where nature meets romantic architecture. As you stroll through its lush gardens, you’ll have the chance to admire the variety of plants and flowers that frame the iconic Pena Palace, one of Portugal’s architectural wonders, with its mix of styles and vibrant colours.
We visit Quinta da Regaleira, one of the most fascinating sites in Sintra, where nature and esotericism intertwine. The mystical gardens, secret grottos, and enigmatic fountains create a unique atmosphere, worthy of exploration.
The tour continues to the National Palace of Sintra, one of the oldest buildings in the city, known for its colourful tiles and medieval architecture. The palace was a royal residence for centuries and still holds the splendour of its origins.
